Trick or Treat

The shop is all decked out in Halloween glory. There are so many cool Halloween canvases these days that I hardly know which to stitch first. Unfortunately my wish list keeps growing. They are after all my colors.

Happy Halloween by Michael Stoebner is on stretcher bars so that is at least a start :-) I'm going to try very very hard to get it finished by Halloween.

This wonderful Jack O'Lantern stitched by Nancy just returned from the finisher and is currently the focal point of our Halloween display. It's a Mindy canvas masterfully stitched with the aide of stitch suggestions by Brenda Hart. The teeth and eyes are buttons and what you can't see is that the border is beaded. Way cool.

Okay, back to work for me. I have a santa to finish!

More finishing options

OMG! These are just too cute!

If you read my blog off and on, you may recognize these canvases. Melissa Shirley designed the witch hat and shoes about a year ago and I just had to stitch them! They are too fun. Stitch guides are complete and I posted them last January finished as pillows.

Since then, others have finished their hats and shoes and we have a new even cuter way of finishing them. I had to show it off. Flat back ornaments with wonderful trim on custom easels. Love them! Thank you Linda, for letting me share your stitching.

Finishing really is the magic part of needlepoint.

Toucans in the Wild of Cockeysville

This isn't my work but it is a piece I want to stitch one day soon. A dear friend of mine, Michele, stitched this beautiful Melissa Shirley canvas with the inspiration of threads and stitches chosen by Brenda Hart.

The colors are vibrant and the variety of stitches and threads brings it all to life. can you see the beads in the trees? You know I love my bling and I think that's one of my favorite aspects of this piece. The beads add just enough sparkle to grab your eye and make you think of sun glinting through the trees.

What can I say? Another project to add to my to do list. Yes, we all have a wish list of canvases we want to stitch.
