It's finished!!!! I just put the last rose on this canvas and had to share before sending it off to the finisher tomorrow. It truly is all about the roses. This is Shelly Tribbey canvas and it's really kind of simple.
I picked a few cool stitches and wonderful threads as a background to the silk ribbon roses that I knew I wanted to do. Trust me on this, they really are easy. They take longer than you would expect as you are going around and around and around some more, but they are super easy. Start with an eyelet, any ODD number of spokes will do. Come up toward the center of the eyelet and then weave around and around and around again, over and under each spoke of the eyelet. A rose begins to appear. How cool is that?
Two nights of ribbonwork and poof; she's a knockout. Ready for Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'm really pleased with her and can't wait to see what the finisher does. I'm sending wonderful trims so watch for an update in a couple of months.
