What a group - an eclectic one at best.

This past weekend was another fun filled embellishment weekend with the inimitable Brenda Hart.  Brenda comes several times a year and we pick her brain.  Each student selects a different canvas and then Brenda is challenged to select threads and stitches for the canvas.

One of the most interesting things is the diversity in canvases. This is just a peak into some of our newest projects.

Mary selected Slo Gin Sadie from Leigh.  It is so much fun.
Mary gets to be a fashion designer and jewelry designer on this canvas.

Katie collects owls.  Last year she started this fun guy with Brenda.

And this year she added to the collection with the owl trio.
I should have take a picture at the end of day three.  She got so much done.
Way to go Katie!

If owls aren't your thing, what about snakes?

Linda is a regular in class.  I can't wait to see what she and Brenda decide for this piece.

We also had lizards.

And those who dressed to match their canvases.

Pat selected wonderful Laurel Burch animals.

And lest you think everyone did funky animals and creatures, just look at the beautiful Lani music collage that Kathy is stitching.

If you would like to join us, we'd love to have you.  We're a fun and relaxed group.  You can see the class schedule here.

Can you provide information on the designer and name of the snake canvas?

It's creepy enough that I would love to stitch it!

Thanks,

Carol S.

Believe it or not, the snake wreath is vintage Melissa Shirley. It's a great piece.
