Look who's coming to the party

Our second lovely lady is fashionably late to the party.  She is however a stunner.  Check out her dress.  I'm in love, do you think she will let me borrow it?

These girls are so much fun to stitch.  We are stitching them one at a time in our Mystery with a Twist Class at Bedecked and Beadazzled.

Each of the ladies has great opportunities for fun hairstyles.

And of course you know I am loving dreaming up different embellishments for each of the girls.  This one has crystal and beaded earrings and crystal and beaded trim on her gown.

Wonder where they are going?  Obviously a formal event and not the grocery store.  Kit #2 for those of you in the class will ship Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Now to see what I will dream up for our third attendee.  Enjoy the party girls.

It's really finished!

You've got to love a project that not only turns out great but that you finish in a timely manner.  Thus is the case with Lynn Payette's Birches class.

This was a two day class we offered at Bedecked and Beadazzled in October and here I am ready to tell you that it's back from the framer!  Woo Hoo!

The class was great fun and I learned a lot.  If you ever have the opportunity to take this class I will promise you will love it.  Lynn will be back at the shop, so stay tuned to see what she teaches next.

The Magical Road to Sweet Surprises

Here we are, starting our Holiday mystery at Bedecked and Beadazzled just a week before Thanksgiving.  Did I actually say a week before Thanksgiving?  Yes, I did.  There are trees to be decorated.  Gifts to be wrapped and most importantly to us silly stitchers pastel colored trees to needlepoint!  I better get a move on designing the stitches and fun for this piece.

The EyeCandy Candyland Christmas Tree Farm is a delight to stitch.  Ada designed it in such a way that it is perfectly painted.  The colors are clear and fresh and there's lots of room for me to play with the sparklies that I love.

We started the class with the zig zag tree on the left.  You know I love the colors of this tree and it totally reminds me of Missoni.  Yes, I loved Missoni well before the Target ads.

It's a simple stitch once you get the first row in place.  If you are doing this with us long distance, please count carefully on the first row.  Each stitch is on a perfect diagonal.  Notice how all the peaks and valleys line up.  That's what makes the tree look like it is zig zagging right off the canvas.

Once the tree is complete we frosted the edges of the branches with Arctic Rays.

The sky is the next part of the canvas to be transformed.  One ply of overdyed embroidery floss with one strand of Accentuate gives it just a little bit of shimmer.

Are we finished with the sky?  Who knows, I may just decide we need a little extra sparkle.  You'll have to wait until the next lesson to see what I decide.

To everyone who is doing this class, thank you for joining us.  To the ladies who came to class today thanks for coming to play. We love seeing you and stitching with you.  This week we were honored to have two ladies from Connecticut join the party.   Can't wait to see you girls again.

If you are interested in stitching these owls you can sign up for the club through many needlework shops across the country and receive one canvas and guide per month.

Call your favorite shop and ask them about the Hoot!  Hoot!  Owl club from Ruth Schmuff Designs.  Club starts April 2012.

I know I'm going to have to stitch a set of these for myself.  They are just tooo darn cute!

Witchy Poo has arrived!

Oh how fun she is.  This is one of EyeCandy Needleart's newest designs.  I love the retro vibe to the kitty's eyes.  Our finisher did a fabulous job turning her in to a stand up.  She has a little metal stand behind her so that she is nice and secure.

Vicky DeAngelis selected the threads and stitches for our girl so a stitchguide comes with every canvas.  She's a quick stitch and oh so fun.

Santa Baby will be here soon to keep her company. Can't wait to show you her.

What's a few more UFOs between friends?

This weekend was our second visit from the ever talented Julia Snyder.  The energy in the shop is electric when teachers come to town.  We have a grand time, stitching and creating.  And some of us who have no will power (read me) start way too many new projects.  Three, count them three this weekend.

Saturday was our Holiday Cocktail party class.  Any Holiday was fair game but most of us stayed in the mood of the season and stitched the Boo-tini.

Check out the bat!  It's a whipped spider with Arctic Rays.  I really don't want to meet this hairy guy in person.

Julia has stitched Shoe-tini.  That's her favorite of the series.

Mary decided to be a rebel and start stitching for Christmas with Holiday-tini as her choice.  Well, you know what happened then.  I had to frame up not only Boo-tini but Holiday-tini to keep with the program.

Julia is very open to input, so as the day progressed and we started to see parts of the canvases come to life, a few changes were made.  That's proof of the magic in the room.  We were all creating.

On Sunday everyone started planning their canvas of choice.  Julia selected threads and stitches for everyone.  The ideas are great.

Wendy's backgammon board from Zecca will have wonderfully textured stitches and a beaded center band.

Raymond Crawford's Christmas Mustang is relatively straightforward but the packages and bows will carry all the drama.

OMG!  Check out the Sprat's Head Hat on this Brenda Stofft witch.  Palma is going to have a masterpiece on her hands in no time with this one.

Rebeca Wood's July Cake will definitely look too good to eat when Katie finishes stitching it.  The layers of icing will be dimensional thanks to woven stitches.

Love the textures on the mermaid's tail.  Simple stitch with great impact.

I love the curls in Eve's hair!  Crescent Stitches worked with 1/16" Ribbon in 002J are bringing this Melissa Shirley canvas to life.  Love that!  Now the question is to bead the snake or bead the apples.  We'll have to wait and see which one Jane decides on.

We're planning Julia's visits for next year.  Shall we just do embellishment or do we want a project.  Either way we have a fabulous time.  I can tell you she will be here to help celebrate our 5th Anniversary so mark your calendars for excitement next Spring!

Personally Yours!

Wowsey, wowsey.  This is what happens when two creative types start chatting and envisioning the what ifs of the design world.  What if you could have the perfect snap tray and/or the perfect frame
weight in just your choices of colors and patterns.  No one will ever confuse your things with theirs in a class again.

We are pleased to announce the Personally Yours!  line of stitching accessories.  Totally custom snap trays and frame weights!

Choose a color.

Choose a fabric pattern.

Choose a font.

I just love my set, but what's not to love in hot pink with zebra trim.

Here's the really fun part.  Do you need a holiday gift for a stitching friend?  It's not too late to have these in time for gift giving.  Call us to place your order.  410.296.0405.

The elves will do the rest of the work. Order quick, the elves are getting busy.
