The Snow is Falling, A Chill is in the Air

We have completed a mystery canvas, the snowman by Zecca!

You really need to see the before.

and the after.

It's a total transformation.  Today was the last lesson so there were a million details to discuss.  When I started this I thought I would do all the green trees the same.  Ah hem. What was I thinking?  That's  a lot of trees.

We've now added trees stitched in Neon Rays, trees embellished with sequins and trees stitched in tiny leaf stitches with an overdye.

I love the snowflakes.  They are just fun.  Lots of different techniques and threads and beads and crystals and sequins.  No rules, just play.  A little of this, a little of that.  Some of my snowflakes are stitched similarly to the dots on EyeCandy's upcoming Crazy Patch Boo-nanza.  They are my favorite part of the club so I had to borrow them and give Ada credit here for a fun idea.

Check out the topography of the canvas when you look at it from the edge it's really cool.  Lots of dimension.

Now I have to decide how I want this piece finished.  Standup?  Framed?  Pillow?  Purse?  I'm not sure yet but as soon as I am it's off to the finisher.

Until then, I will get busy test stitching the techniques I have in mind for Bastet the Egyptian Cat Goddess. She's our next mystery.

If you would like to join us for Bastet or have us kit the snowman give us a call at 410.296.0405 and we'll take care of the details.
