First Pretty Birds and then Pretty Fishies

Here we are it's almost February and I haven't even shared with  you the Mystery class that starts in March.  I am slacking!

Allow me to present Wild Salmon by Teresa Layman.

You know I love happy colorful canvases and this one fits the bill.  Stripes, dots, dashes and patterns all perfect for stitches and beads.

This will be the next mystery class after our pretty birdies of House Hunt.  Join us March 13, April 3 and May 1 as we embellish our Wild Salmon.  You can join the class in person or have us send you the lessons in installments.

The canvas measures 9 x 14 and is stitchpainted on 18ct mono. You will need 13 x 17 stretcher bars.

Give us a call at 410.296.0405 to sign up, or sign up online.

Hope you like fishes.

A Sparkling Home for Birds

Lesson two of House Hunt is ready for prime time viewing.

The background is complete, the birdhouse is all sparkly and new and one single plant has come to bloom.  So many fun details.  You know I love all the tiny fun stuff.

I thought our birds needed a sparkly home.  So many fun things to do with beads.

The single red stem is straight up embroidery.
I was having so much fun with beads on the birdhouse, that I added some here too.

Lesson three is in two weeks.  Stay tuned, will it be flowers or birds next or maybe both.

Until then, if you are in the mid atlantic stay warm and safe.  We've got a lot of snow.

Jonas, aka Snowzilla dropped 29" in one night.  Here's our street before the big dig.

And after the dig out.

Harold likes his eye-level view of the squirrels on the deck.  He is very good at his supervisory role.

New Class Offerings

I would like to invite you to a class featuring the art of ellen giggenbach.

I launched ellen's fun designs to the needlepoint world in September.  You can see all of her fun designs here.

This is a brand new design that I am itching to stitch.  It's going to be so fun.  I have unexpected ideas in my head.  I know, say it isn't so!

Class will be March 5 & 6 from 11-5 each day and includes two full days of instruction, canvas, threads, stretcher bars, lunch and desert each day.
Canvas is 10 x 9 hand painted on 18ct.
Estimated class price is $575 - $615.  A $200 deposit is required to reserve your space in the class.

Give us a call if you would like to sign up.  410.296.0405

Hope to see you there.

Stitcherie Games Viewers Choice 2015

This is the third year of the Stitcherie Challenge on .  When KB created this adventure in January 2013 we had no idea how popular the game would be.  Here we are at the end of  the second year and we have 21 inventive entries to share.

The rules were simple.  Grab a canvas from your stash with at least 10 areas to stitch.  Each month a new clue was released and participants were challenged to interpret the clue in relation to their piece.

The results were clever, oh so clever.

Here's the clues that had to be followed.
January - Pickle
February - Football
March - Rigel
April - 3
May - Topsy Turvy
June - Lilliputian
July - Tic Tac Toe
August - Apple
September - Hello, Mrs. Pot
October -  Line Stitch

Here's the results, the stitched canvases that showcase the clues.

Now it's time for the Viewer's Choice Award.  It's your turn to vote for your favorite stitched canvas.  Choose your favorite, click the button above the photo and the vote now button at the bottom of the page.  Let the games begin!  A winner will be announced on the 2nd of February! (The poll will close 1/31/15)
